by Donald Marmara, Somatic Psychotherapist, Artarmon, Sydney

Are you worried about your children’s health or behaviour?

Are you confused by so many expert opinions and advice?

Core Development offers:

  • Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy (in-person, phone and Zoom)
  • Somatic Psychotherapy
  • Counselling and Psychotherapy for Parents and Teenagers(together and separately)
  • Couples Counselling
  • Talks and workshops for groups and organisations

Your Needs Matter

When your needs are not being met you feel stressed and concerned about issues in your own life. This makes it more difficult for you to understand, support and enjoy your children.

My approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy can help you deal effectively with the stresses in your life and get your needs met. So you are less stressed, you feel better, and you are in a much better condition to help your children.

Everyone is Different

As everyone is different, I may work separately with you and your child or children, or have joint sessions.

Usually a combination of joint and separate sessions works best. This varies, however,  and my aim is to work in whatever way is most helpful and effective for you and your child or children.

I offer individual sessions(in-person,phone and zoom), couples sessions, small group sessions and workshops, both in-house and public.   I am also available for speaking engagements.

You may find these helpful:

I have developed core development as a result of 40 years international experience of working with adults and children in various settings, as well as having overcome serious obstacles myself including turning my life around after 12 years of chronic anxiety and depression.

I bring all my experience and insights to our work together so we’re successful. These include my training and experience in counselling and somatic psychotherapy, youth mentoring, child care, structural consulting and physical therapy.

In addition to my training and experience as a therapist, I have also spent 15 years working with primary school children in after school care, and 5 years mentoring High School students.

This makes me uniquely qualified to make a difference to those who are raising or working with children.

My approach is supportive, validating and encouraging. I help you identify and develop your strengths and talents, some of which are often hidden. You can use these to deal with your challenges constructively so you get positive and permanent results.

Please note that core development is a learning experience and is not intended to replace clinical or medical attention where this is required.
